American Chirotherapy

American chiropractic is a scientifically recognized cure that attempts to detect the cause of malpositions (subluxations) on the spine or other structures without additional use of medication and to correct them by means of adjustment. The holistically oriented treatment plays an important role, as, for example, a skewing of the pelvis leads  to a leg length difference, which can affect the complete alignment and movement of the spine.

Blockages can affect not only the musculoskeletal system but also the nervous system. As a result, disorders of the mechanics of a body region can be expressed both locally and on another level. If, for example, a vertebra is displaced in the region of the cervical spine, in addition to a restriction of movement, it can also lead to headaches or migraines.

Typical treatable conditions include:

  •     Pain and movement restrictions in the area of the spine
  •     Headache, migraine and tinnitus
  •     Pain in extremities (e.g. tennis elbow, shoulder or hip pain)
  •     Leg length differences due to blockages of the sacroiliac joint (ISG)
  •     Non-organic chest pain

The goal of holistic chiropractic therapy is to remove all blockages from the pelvis to the cervical spine in order to normalize mobility, relieve pain and relieve the nervous system. The treatment also results in an even load on muscles, tendons and ligaments.

If current examination reports and X-ray or MRI images are available, you are welcome to bring them with you to the first appointment.

Frequently asked questions

How often can a vortex be manipulated?

The widespread opinion that it can come after too frequent manipulation to the leaching of the joints, is outdated. The treatment of subluxations normalizes the alignment of the vertebral bodies and creates an even load on muscles, tendons and ligaments. Because holistic chiropractic does not violate any structures due to rotation techniques, it can be used until the vertebra remains in place.

Are there special risks?

Holistic chiropractic is a low-risk treatment modality. Care should be taken, however, that the treatment is performed by a qualified therapist. Anamnesis and examination exclude potential contraindications at the beginning. Should a problem emerge that does not fall into the chiropractic area of responsibility, I would like to refer you to the respective specialist.

Is the treatment painful?

The chiropractic treatment is usually absolutely painless. Often the patients feel relief afterwards, as they experience a relief of the problem. In rare cases dizziness or headache may occur after treatment. These symptoms usually resolve after a shorter period of time.

At which distance should a treatment be carried out?

Between the first two treatments should be about two to three days. Subsequent treatments depend on the success of the therapy. If, after the second treatment, you are already free of any complaints, you can also arrange a follow-up appointment one week later. If it is a chronic problem, it may need further treatment until a therapeutic success begins. If there is no improvement after three units, the problem must be examined again by a doctor.

How fast is a success?

The success of therapy depends on how long the subluxation already exists. If it is a recently acquired problem, a significant improvement may already occur immediately after the first treatment or in the next 36 hours. If the symptoms persist for a long time, it can be noticed that after one to two weeks there is a relief of the symptoms.

What do I do after chiropractic treatment?

After a chiropractic series of treatment, all passive structures should be back in place. In order to prevent a recurrence of the problem, it is advisable to support the musculoskeletal musculature and stabilize. I am happy to show you different exercises on how to train the relevant muscles.

Does my health insurance company take over the costs?

The billing takes place according to the fee schedule for non-medical practitioners (GebüH). However, depending on the insurance company and the person responsible, the reimbursement amount for private patients may vary and an own contribution may remain. Statutory health insurance companies usually only cover the costs of treatment by licensed physicians. Thus - without additional insurance - the treatment itself must be borne.
